Ups and Downs.....

Where to begin. Sorry it's been so long, but the past week and a half has been very draining emotionally!

Ok, so i am almost over my panic.....I'm not sure how much you've heard, but have you heard me say how smoothly this was all going? Well, it's not anymore. Last Monday we found out that A.) we are not closing on the 7th because the house that they are buying won't be ready until the 16th, but our rate lock expires on the 10th....so we had to look into how much it would be to extend our lock....B.) that our lawyer...my friend Allison had found a new job and wouldn't be handling our close anymore because her last day at work will be the 10.

Then today we got a call from her cousin, our new lawyer, saying that the sellers are going on vacation now so we can either close on the morning of the 14 or after the 23...so we would of course want to close on the 14 and only pay for 4 day extension.....but we still hadn't heard back from our mortgage guy....

my sister works for the company and it was announced monday also that they were in trouble....Wednesday it was determined that as of now, they cannot honor ANY commitments for mortgages. SO AT THAT POINT I HAVE NO MORTGAGE AND I'M SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN 14 DAYS!!!!!!

So after crying most of Wednesday evening, I got in contact with a friend of my lawyers who works for Wells Fargo on Thursday morning. He was able to give us a mortgage at the same rate with the same deals while i was on the phone with him. So as of Thursday afternoon I had a new mortgage and AHM announced that they were declaring bankruptcy and closing their doors on Friday, so my sister is out of a job.

This week has been smoother so far but trying to scedule the close, the move, the utilities, the walk through, cleaning, painting both places it's been a bit of a head ache! So now we are confirmed to be closing on the 14, taking possesion on the 16, Joe's wedding on the 17 th and moving in on the 18. I will rest easy when the keys are in my hand and not until then.
