Kaitlyn now goes to sleep with no milk. She has been going with only half a cup since she's been potty trained for both her nap and bedtime and we haven't had an accident in months, so I was fine with her keeping the half cup routine and was in no rush to cut it out....but Katie had other plans. Monday we were on our way home to take a nap and she told me in the car "I don't want any milk now" so i said ok, and that big girls don't take milk to bed, and how proud i was that she didn't want it, but i told her it was ok if she did want it too...We got home and i asked her again. She said she didn't want it, went into her crib...talked for a little while to herself and then fell asleep for 3 hours. I was ecstatic, made a big deal out of it and even called daddy when she woke up to tell him too. But at bedtime, I asked her if she wanted milk again...and she said no, she doesn't need it anymore. Today is wednesday and she's so proud of herself that she doesn't need milk to go to sleep, that she hasn't had anymore since then! I've had to give her some at random times during the day becasue i want her to still drink milk, but she seems to be doing fine.
And Grandma bought her a new type of swim vest for the pool. She had a regular swim vest, but it didn't keep her stable, so she was nervous in the pool on her own. One of us always had to hold her, untill she learned how to use the noodle. She could just hold onto the noddle and kick and she would stay floating. Well, grandma found a swim vest with a tube built in and Kaitlyn loves it! She's off swimming on her own all around the pool! (of course we're still usually standing right behind her, but she has the confidence now to kick away from us....even if i don't have the confidence yet to let her!)
