Halloween 09

Blogger just ate my whole writeup!!!!

So....Halloween was a saturday this year, as you all know...which meant even more time for madness! Actually it meant we'd probably do the same amount of madness, but we'd have all day to spread it out instead of cramming it into an afternoon. It also meant the Daddy could come trick or treating for the first time! Katie wanted to put on her Stephanie costume (from Lazy Town) as soon as she woke up. I managed to held her off til about 11:30, since i knew that this wig was not going to last all day. At least we got to wear it outside!

At noon we went out and trick or treated on our block. We went over and got Danielle and Billy and they came with us. Nobody was really home, but it made her feel good to get started. After that we went to the mall and did some "safe trick or treating" we went to a few stores, but Katie got bored really quickly. She was pretty much done with "boring trick or treating.

So we headed into Queens Village for our yearly ritual. This year there was a new addition with Deana D'Urso joining us! We did ALOT of trick or treating then, but the kids had a blast running from door to door. Katie could no longer carry her bag because it got so heavy, so i was carrying it and she was going up and getting a piece of candy and bringing it back to me.

After all of this fun, we went on for more...we headed to Cameo to see grandma and poppa....and did some more trick or treating to their neighbors. It was a long day with no nap and it was showing by the evening....for all of us. But our no nap strategy worked. Since we had to turn the clocks back that night, we were really nervous about a 6 am wake up call from Katie. Well, about 8:45 (which the day before would have been 9:45) we heard her call from her room! It was a VERY nice present!
